Consent to Treatment
At Accelerate Physiotherapy, we believe that informed consent is an important part of providing safe and effective healthcare.
Before any assessment or treatment begins, your physiotherapist will explain their findings, discuss the proposed treatment, and outline the potential benefits, risks and any alternative options where appropriate. You will have the opportunity to ask questions before deciding whether you wish to proceed.
Your consent is voluntary and ongoing. You are free to decline or stop any assessment or treatment at any time without affecting your future care.
To help us provide safe and appropriate treatment, it is important that you provide accurate information about your medical history, current symptoms, medications and any changes to your health.
Occasionally, following assessment, your physiotherapist may determine that physiotherapy is not the most appropriate treatment or that further investigations or referral to another healthcare professional are required. In these circumstances, treatment may not proceed, and the reasons will be fully explained to you.
If you have any questions about your assessment or treatment, please speak to your physiotherapist, who will be happy to discuss them with you.
